The Helpful Plate’s coaching philosophy:

We believe in the health of the whole person. We think that to be healthy means to be of sound mind, body and spirit and when one element gets off track, it affects the others. Our bodies can’t tell work stress from relationship stress from exercise stress. It just knows that it’s being asked to do extraordinary things.

At The Helpful Plate, we believe that we can help your life align with your vision of your best self. We want to help you by coaching you through good food choices to nourish your body, which in turn makes your mind and spirit stronger and better able to withstand the demands of life.

We recognize that lots of things affect your choices: your relationships, your job, your hobbies, your belief system and so much more. Our aim is to know the real you so that we can bring out the best of what you have to offer.

There are limitations to what we can do, but a firm partnership, honest communication, and sincerity will help us move you forward along your path.

We consider things like:

  • Do you have a supportive partner?

  • Do you have a stressful job?

  • Do you travel a lot?

  • Do you have health concerns such as hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia or diabetes that may affect your eating habits and weight?

  • What foods do you love?

  • What foods do you hate?

  • Do you like to cook?

  • Are you an experimenter or do you prefer a recipe?

  • Where do you buy your food?

  • Do you have issues with food texture?

  • What is your exercise regimen?

  • What do you like to do for fun?

  • How frequently do you eat out?

  • What is the BEST thing you had to eat today? (Just kidding, but we really do want to know you.)

The bottom line is that The Helpful Plate believes in a business model of being in relationship. We don’t want to sell you an instructional packet and disappear.

Group Package - 1 month - 5 or more people - $50 each

Get 4 friends and let’s do a good health challenge! This package has the benefit of undertaking this journey with others and having accountability partners.

The package includes weekly 1-hour meetings with the group, seasonal recipes, and sharing successes and challenges for the benefit of all. It also includes meal planning tips and grocery lists.

Note: The meetings may be in-person or virtual and tack place at a time mutually agreeable to the group.
